Competition in the smartphone arena has always been good for consumers, not only between different operating systems but also between manufacturers. Now Google seems to go a little further, by opening the Nexus franchise (read: pure Android experience) to any brand willing to apply.
We have been hearing about Google's plan to launch multiple Nexus smartphones this year for quite some time and now a leaked document from Japanese telecom operator seems to have confirmed that.
According to a report in blog Android Noodles, Samsung, LG and Sony will be launching Nexus smartphones this year. NTT DoCoMo's winter line-up has revealed the device named as Samsung Galaxy Nexus II, LG Optimus Nexus and Sony Xperia Nexus:
The Samsung Galaxy Nexus II was also leaked a few days ago as GT-I9260, which is minor revision to the existing Galaxy Nexus. It will feature 4.65-inch Super AMOLED HD display, 1.5GHz dual core processor, 8MP rear camera, 1.9 MP front camera and 16GB internal memory with microSD card slot.
