The Lumia Cyan update for Nokia Lumia running Windows Phone smartphones is now rolling out and will be with all devices in the coming weeks. Here we take a look at how to get the Lumia Cyan update with Windows Phone 8.1 on your smartphone.
Your Nokia Lumia supports Over the Air (OTA) wireless updates and updating your smartphone is now even easier than ever. You don’t need any cables or computer, just download and install the update using your Lumia. Updates are free of charge, but to download the update, you need an internet connection. It is best to use a WiFi connection to avoid mobile data costs.
The Lumia Cyan update started rolling out around the world last week and will be available for all Windows Phone 8 Lumia devices in the coming weeks. Your Lumia automatically checks for updates and will notify you when the update is available.
If you want to manually check for the Lumia Cyan update go to Settings>Phone Update and tap the Check for Updates. You can also tick the Automatically download box and you will be notified when the update lands.
One tip before you get started with the update, make sure that you’re battery is charged as no update can be performed on a Nokia Lumia smartphone with low battery life. It’s typically recommended that you’ll need a battery life of over 50% for the update to run.
