Google+ for Android update brings a new Stream design and more sharing options

Google+

Google has just announced a new version of its Google+ client for Android with a handful of new features. Google+ intends to change your perception about the social networks and the mobile client is an important piece in this strategy.

The Android version of Google+ brings many of the features of its desktop counterpart to your smartphone with an interface tailored to mobile (touch) devices that is efficient, clean, and intuitive. Following are the changes introduced in this version.

  • New stream design (including comment previews and swiping through photo albums inline)
  • Control the volume of posts that you see in your stream from individual circles/communities
  • New app setup flow
  • Filter search results by best or most recent
  • Tell others about a community (by sharing it or sending an invitation)
  • Re-share posts to communities
  • Share your current location on your profile and control who can see it via G+ settings

The new version is awaiting you over in the Google Play Store (please, be patient if you can't find the update yet - it should be available shortly everywhere). We'd also like to hear from you about the changes by posting your thoughts in the comments section below.
