According to mobile app analytics and marketing firm Localytics, which tracked sales of the Galaxy S3 for four months since its launch, sales jumped in the wake of the ruling ordering SEC to pay over US$1bn in damages to Apple and Apple’s launch of the new iPhone 5.
In particular, sales growth peaked the week when a jury awarded Apple US $1bn in damages. The flood of post-litigation press coverage gave the impression that SEC devices were comparable to iPhones, rather than just a copycat.
